Jaz Scripting Language
Jaz Scripting Language takes your Jaz a step further by offering a smart scripting engine -- a powerful tool that is simple enough for nonprogrammers to create their own applications for Jaz. Jaz Scripting Language (JSL) has been designed to enable automation of a sequence of actions to be performed either on Jaz's hardware or a host computer connected to Jaz. JSL provides primitive functions that perform repetitive tasks such as obtaining spectrum, controlling a light source and spectrometer in the Jaz stack, manipulation of spectral data and saving spectral data to a file for further analysis.

JSL is patterned after the BASIC programming language and is intended to provide programmers and nonprogrammers alike with an accessible and intuitive interface to Jaz spectroscopy functions.

Jaz-A-IRRAD for Absolute Irradiance
With Jaz-A-IRRAD absolute irradiance measurement software, the handheld Jaz transforms into a dedicated light meter, allowing users to measure calibrated absolute irradiance without any need for an external computer. Characteristics such as color temperature, spectral intensity and color space values of LEDs, radiant sources and the sun are captured with just 3 pushes of a button.  Data captured can be post processed to the intensity parameter of choice-Watts/cm2, lumen, lux, PAR, or any other light intensity parameter.

Jaz Application Programming Interface
Jaz Application Programming Interface (API) enables 3rd party development for Jaz. With Jaz API, experienced software programmers can program applications for their unique needs.

All software for Jaz can be built using freely available tools -- including the native uClinix for the Blackfin environment and on the Linux platform. It's recommended that new Jaz applications be developed and tested entirely on a Linux development workstation, cross-compiled for the Blackfin and tested on native hardware
