LS-450 Blue LED Pulsed Light Source

The LS-450 Blue LED Pulsed Light Source is an LED that produces either pulsed or continuous output at 470 nm -- the blue region -- for fluorescence measurements. The source is designed for use with Ocean Optics spectrometers configured for fluorescence, with Fiber Optic Oxygen Sensors, and with sampling optics such as the CUV-UV-ALL 4-way Cuvette Holder

Features

  • Excitation Source. Produces either pulsed or continuous output at 470 nm for high-sensitivity fluorescence applications

  • Software Operation. Lamps can be turned on/off and used in pulsed or continuous mode through manual or software operation

  • Synchronization with Detector Scan Rate. Configure lamp pulse rates via jumper blocks on the lamp or on the spectrometer

The LS-450 Blue LED is $577.

The LS-450 can be configured to operate in pulsed or continuous mode through manual or software operation. Also available are additional wavelength-specific LEDs (see below) for use with the LS-450 housing. These LEDs are $100 each.

LS-450 Stand-alone Version

The LS-450 connects to the spectrometer via an interface cable; an SMA 905 Connector allows coupling to fiber optics. You can configure the light source to operate through a jumper block on the source or on the circuit board of an S2000 Spectrometer.

Also available is the LS-475 Pulsed Blue LED, which is distinguished by its wavelength (interestingly enough, 475 nm) and its fan-cooled assembly

Rack-mount Versions.

The R-LS-450 Blue LED is the rack-mount version of the LS-450. For multiple-LED users with limited space in a desktop or rack box, the R-LS-450-2 (2 LEDs) rack-mount version is another option. You can configure operation of the R-LS-450 and R-LS-450-2 through three jumper blocks on the circuit board of the R-LS-450.

In addition, the LS-450 can be installed into an SF2000 Spectrophotometer. The LS-450 is mounted onto a card, and then stacked with the spectrometer in the same housing.

LS-450 for Use with USB2000 Spectrometer

The USB-LS-450 module connects to the USB2000 Spectrometer via the spectrometer’s 10-pin connector. The spectrometer provides power to the LED and also enables synchronization functions and I2C communications. By adding a sampling optic and interfacing to a notebook PC, the USB2000-with-USB-LS-450 setup provides a convenient, field-portable system.

Benefit for Fiber Optic Oxygen Sensor Users

The USB-LS-450 features a built-in, 24-bit analog-to-digital converter that is configured for a 100 ohm platinum RTD. The USB-LS-450’s on-board memory can be programmed to store temperature and oxygen calibration coefficients.
